Thank You Apollo 11

Categories:  general

Many thanks to the crew of Apollo 11! 39 years ago today, our country landed a few brave souls on the surface of the moon. Lets hope their endeavors were not in vain and that courageous, adventurous humans will continue to seek out the last haven of longevity - space.

Actually, it was 40 years ago today, not 39. July 20, 1969. I know this because I was born on July 21, 1969, while they were actually walking around on the moon…and tomorrow is my 40th birthday.

    Look at the flag.
There’s Wind on the Moon !?!?!?

    1) Moon has no atmosphere and no winds, consequently the banner cannot fly.

    2) Moon has some gravity, so the banner should hang in the absence of wind.

    Is this picture fake?

Tersa: this was posted in 2008 and would have been 39 years.

    Others:

“There’s wind on the moon” - ummm..no they put wire through the flag so that it would display correctly. otherwise it would just be pointless to have it hanging from a stick. simple mechanics.

good thing you people don’t work for nasa
